As busy exporters, speedy movement of produce to destinations across the globe is vital to the Group’s success and reputation. The need within for logistic self-sufficiency reinforced the Group’s decision to launch Goodearth Maritime Ltd (GML) in 2000. The company has since grown in strength, with 7 ships in operation - 2 Panamax, 1 Super Handymax and 4 Handysize. Further acquisitions, which include seven double-hull bulk carriers, are under way.

GML turned its assets into solid performance by transporting cement, granite, steel, iron ore, coal, wheat, fertilizers and other dry bulk commodities to destinations across the world. As it grew in stature and strength, GML amassed knowledge in port development and shore logistics, and made these gains count in meeting its own needs and those of its clients.

In December 2007, IDFCPE, India’s largest infrastructure focused private equity investor, picked up minority stake by investing INR 2,600 million in GML.
