"Total Maritime Design (TMD) is an independent strategic business unit catering to all ship design requirements for GML and GSPL. Additionally it takes up projects to optimize its internal resources and generate revenues. Contemporary maritime knowhow from GML and in-house R&D support from Knowledge Center helps TMD to continuously innovate and offer most contemporary services to its clients. TMD has created new concept design for a 20,000 Tons DWT bulk carrier (Certified by DNV) for use in Indian Coastal waters. They have also provided design support to several national and international clients like Rolls Royce, DNV and Essar."

Following is list of services which can be offered by TMD.

• Basic and Concept Design, incorporating latest developments, (such as CSR, Double Hull) adopting latest regulations of MARPOL, latest amendments in classification rules / Statutory requirements, incorporating latest propulsion / steering / Cargo handling systems.
• Production design / Documentation.
• Preparation of Contract and Detail Specification for the Vessel as a whole, and also technical specifications to purchase various equipments of the vessels and review / co-ordinate the vendor drawings.
• Extending guidance, and support, to the ship owners.
• Consultancy services pertaining to up-gradation of ships.
